My Bio

When I previously served on our school board, I saw firsthand what we can accomplish when we work together with a shared purpose. That is why I am stepping up to run again. I believe our community deserves a cohesive, nonpartisan board that leaves politics at the door and focuses entirely on what truly matters. For me, that means putting our students first, supporting our dedicated teachers, and maintaining strict fiscal responsibility with our resources. We need a leadership team that collaborates, listens, and keeps its focus on the classroom. I am running to bring that cooperative spirit back to our school board, ensuring every decision we make is guided by common sense and a deep commitment to our kids' future.

My Key Issues

Fiscal responsibility

In these times of dwindling funding from our state legislature, our community is constantly being asked to step up and help cover the deficit by passing referendums. I know how much we are asking of our neighbors. That is why I am committed to a focus on fiscal responsibility. I pledge to you that in every single budget conversation, my absolute priority will always be our students and our classrooms. We must ensure that our resources are directed where they matter most—right there with our kids and our teachers. By putting our students first, we can navigate these financial challenges together and keep our schools strong.

Teacher Retention and Recruitment

Last year, for the first time ever, our HSE teachers saw a reduction in their take-home pay. This is deeply concerning to me because our teachers are the absolute backbone of our students' success. When their pay decreases, it does not just affect their wallets—it damages morale, hurts our ability to recruit new talent, and makes it harder to keep the great educators we already have. Ultimately, this impacts the quality of education right here in our community. I want to change this. I will work to ensure we support our educators so we can restore HSE as a top destination school district. Our schools must be places where teachers want to build their careers and where our children can truly thrive.

Continuing Academic Excellence

For decades, HSE has been an academic powerhouse, and our many successful graduates are living proof of that legacy. My priority is to continue meeting the unique needs of every single student who walks through our doors. For me, preparing our kids means setting them up for success not just during their school years, but for their entire lives after graduation. True success also includes the vital ability to collaborate and work alongside others who come from different backgrounds and hold different beliefs. By focusing on both academic excellence and mutual respect, we can ensure every student in our community is ready for a bright future.

Increasing Enrollment

As our community ages, HSE is facing a predicted decline in enrollment, which directly impacts our school funding. A few years ago, we adopted open enrollment, which helped slow the decrease in our student population—but we need to do more. We have something truly special here, and I want to focus on sharing that message far and wide. We must actively get the word out beyond our borders about the world-class education every single student receives at HSE. By welcoming students from outside our boundaries, we can protect our funding, strengthen our classrooms, and ensure our schools remain strong and vibrant for years to come.
